The Jeddah chapter of Aligarh Muslim University alumni has formed a new committee for next two years, after the term of the previous committee expired. The newly elected president is Syed Farzan Ahmed Rizvi.
Aligarh Muslim University (AMU) is one of the pioneer educational Institution of India. Many alumni of AMU have been living and working in the Kingdom.
A committee of 26 members was chosen in a general body meeting to represent AMU Old Boys Association, Jeddah chapter. In the first meeting the committee members elected the office bearers.
The new office bearers are Syed Farzan Ahmed Rizvi, president, Mohammad Khurram Ilyas, vice president, Nooruddin Khan, treasurer, Aqeel Jamil, general secretary and Imran Ahmed Ansari, joint secretary.
The new AMUOBA-Jeddah committee embarks on an ambitious plan to form various committees to work for the welfare of the AMU alumni in particular and the Indian community in general.
The planned committees will work in the field of education, culture, welfare and employment, finance and on the alumni directory.
The president highlighted a plan to generate an updated directory for alumni in Jeddah. All AMU alumni in Jeddah are urged to provide their contact information by sending a test mail to [email protected] and by completing the auto generated form.
